3. Mauri Mai Taku wai - A Maori action song. In this dance there are many traditional kapa haka movements. Students develop ability to learn and rehearse a choreographed dance with the real possibility of performing it to an audience of either fellow students or parents and friends. It is also suitable for the whole school as a performance item. 5. The Bullfrog - Another rocky jazz dance. This fairly complicated high energy routine once mastered, is extremely satisfying. Students explore elements of space and the upper body's relationship to it by bouncing, bending, hopping, stretching, twisting and moving continuously. 6 The Sportscar -This is jazzy musical theatre. A cool dance which responds to images. It combines elements of dance, mime and theatre. It includes two verses of narrative which the children role-play being motorists. The dance can be simplified for younger children by them making racing cars out of cardboard boxes.
