The Aunties in Education
For twenty years, the Aunties have been entertaining, educating, and enthralling young audiences throughout New Zealand. They have been regulars on television (The TV Series Aunties Alphabet screened 15 times!), in the theatre, at festivals, and in Schools every year.
Now the Aunties have produced a kit aimed directly at the new Primary Schools Arts Curriculum -and as the name suggests, "Ants in Ya Pants" really will get the kids up and moving.

The four Strands of the Arts in the New Zealand curriculum
Each song section includes notes, which identify the four interrelated teaching strands-
1. Developing practical knowledge
2. Developing ideas
3. Communicating and interpreting the arts
4. Understanding the arts in context.
The kit also provides the experiences needed to give the children the opportunity to achieve the learning outcomes outlined in the curriculum's achievement objectives.
Essential Skills and Curriculum Strands
The video, manual and CD all word together to not only develop the arts but also to help develop other areas such as; communication, problem solving and social and co-operative skills.
In the workshop notes and strands links are also made to other curriculum areas such as; science and social sciences, language and languages, health and physical well-being.
